100% CLIMATE COMPENSATED COFFEE

WE CARE ABOUT OUR PLANET

Every cup of Arvid Nordquist coffee drunk contributes to the planting of trees in deforested areas of coffee-growing countries.

Coffee production generates emissions of carbon dioxide during cultivation, transport and roasting. At Arvid Nordquist Coffee, we work actively to reduce these emissions and our impact on the environment. We compensate for the carbon emissions we have not yet managed to tackle through tree-planting schemes in coffee-growing countries.

100% CLIMATE COMPENSATED

We have calculated the impact on the climate caused by our coffee production all the way down to individual product level. We compensate for 100% of the remaining environmental impact from our coffee production, all the way from the farms to the store shelves, by purchasing climate-compensation certificates.

PLANTING TREES

The planting of trees is one of the many ways in which we can compensate for greenhouse-gas emissions. Approximately 17%, equivalent to roughly 6 billion tonnes, of the Earth’s CO2 emissions come from unsustainable land use, including deforestation. During its lifetime, one medium-sized tree will absorb hundreds of kilograms of CO2. Planting trees is, therefore, an effective way of binding carbon dioxide and improving our climate.

FOR PEOPLE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Increased forestation has a positive effect on the climate, improves the soil and water supply and contributes to increased flora and fauna. It also offers new economic opportunities for the people and communities involved.
